The representative body of the democratically elected Students’ Union, constituted as per the regulations specified in the R. B. C. College Students’ Union Constitution, takes active role in maintaining the spirit of harmony among the students, dissemination of knowledge, conducting extra-curricular activities and welfare programmes. The Students’ Union contributes to the academic, cultural and social development of the institution by coordinating with students and organising various programmes.
Students equipped with these Certificates may avail themselves with the opportunity of joining Thal Sena Camp, Republic Day Parade, National Integration Camp, Youth Exchange Programmes (International), Army Attachment Camp, Trekking, and Mountaineering expeditions. Moreover, academically meritorious cadets are entitled to get “Sahara Educational Scholarship”. Students must contact the NCC officer for enrollment as cadets. Those who are already attached to NCC as cadets must report the same to the NCC officer.
The NSS units of the college are dedicated to the "development of personality of the students through community service". The units provide the following opportunities to the student volunteers to organize and participate in
(i) various rural and urban welfare activities,
(ii) special camps on HIV/AIDS, Blood Donation and Medical Check-up,
(iii) awareness campaigns on Domestic Violence, Human Rights, Gender Sensitization and Beautification of the Campus Ecology,
(iv) relief work for the victims of Natural Disaster, and
(v) community development works.
In this multicultural, multidisciplinary, co-educational college, the rich cultural heritage of India, spirit of national integration and communal harmony are cherished through Annual Cultural Festival, Freshers’ Welcome Programme, Annual Reunion, Teachers’ Pre-Puja Meet, Teacher’s Day celebration, Bhasha Diwas, Rabindra Jayanti, etc. Colorful cultural functions are regularly organised by the students, staff and faculty of the college on these occasions.
The college has a multi-facility ~3.5acre playground, play-courtyard, and common rooms for indoor games for persuing the competence of its students in sports and games. Infact, our students participate in the inter-college tournaments and University meets every year and earns laurels for themselves and the college. The college has its own football, cricket, vollyball atheletics, table-tennis and kho-kho teams. The college is proud of our students' performances in the followings events.
(i) In 2006, our football team has won the inter collegiate tournament,
(ii) In 2007 & 2008, the athletics team of the college has won several medals in inter-college tournaments and a silver medal in State-level high jump event of the Sports Authority of India (SAI),
(iii) In 2008 & 2009, the college has received accolades for hosting the inter-college volleyball and cricket tournaments,
(iv) In 2011 & 2012, the students of the college have represented themselves as the members of the University athletics, swimming, kho-kho, and other games' teams in the inter-University tournaments organized by Association of Indian Universities and SAI.
The college has a Students' Welfare Fund from which a limited number of needy and meritorious students are granted financial assistance every year. To get  such assistance, a student should  apply in plain paper to The Principal, R. B. C. College, Naihati.  The following documents are required along with the application -
(i) BPL Card/family income certificates,
(ii) recommendation from any distinguished person, and
(iii) an attested photocopy of the mark sheet of the examination passed.
The College has a separate Students’ Canteen housed in the ground floor of R. B. C. College Students’ Amenities Block (Dinesh Majumdar Smriti Bhavan) that offers hygienic and nutritious food at an affordable price. The college also has a newly renovated Health Centre with first-aid facilities and health check-up located near the canteen.

National Cadet Corps
The college NCC Coy, attached to 49 Bengal Battalion, enrolls students as Senior Division Cadets, and prepares them for NCC “B” and “C” Certificate Examinations. Students who qualified these examinations, are eligible for direct entry scheme of Defence and paramilitary services.
The prospectives of the student volunteers who render National Social Service for at least two years (120 hrs/year) and participate in two special camping programmes are worthy to mention as they are entitled to get Certificates from NSS that prove immensely valuable in seeking jobs in Civil Services (WBCS, IAS, etc.), Non-Government Organizations (NGO), and other service sectors. The college is proud for its NSS units as they have won acclaim from the Government, OXFAM, and other NGOs. Students are highly encouraged to contact the NSS Programme Officers for enrollment as volunteers.
